Aerial Resupply Coffee is a veteran-owned specialty coffee roaster founded in 2021 by Mike Klemmer, a retired U.S. Army logistics officer with 20 years of service, and based in Charlottesville, Virginia. A certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), ARC roasts coffee in small batches at its own roastery and serves customers nationwide through online sales, coffee subscriptions, wholesale and private-label coffee.

What Is Aerial Resupply Coffee?
Aerial Resupply Coffee, or ARC, is a coffee roaster. Not a label on somebody else’s beans, not a subscription box reselling a wholesaler’s stock. We buy green coffee, roast it, pack it and ship it ourselves, from one building in Charlottesville.

Every coffee ARC sells is roasted in small batches at our roastery at 705 Dale Ave in Charlottesville, then packed and shipped from the same address. That includes our single-serve pods, which we fill in-house instead of handing the job to a third party.
Who Founded Aerial Resupply Coffee?
Founder Mike Klemmer
Aerial Resupply Coffee was founded in 2021 by Mike Klemmer, a retired U.S. Army logistics officer. Over a 20-year career he deployed three times, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, making sure deployed troops had the supplies they needed before they needed them. He was awarded two Bronze Stars.
From 20 Years of Army Service to Aerial Resupply Coffee
In the Army, aerial resupply is how critical supplies reach people who are already out doing the work, in places nobody else is coming. Mike spent two decades on that side of the mission, and he named the company for it.
Mike’s family is from Charlottesville. Twenty years of service moved them around the country and overseas, but the plan never changed: when the Army was done with them, they were coming home. They moved back to Charlottesville in 2018, and in 2021 Mike founded Aerial Resupply Coffee a few miles from where the family grew up.

Mike looked at the veteran-owned coffee brands on the shelf and kept hearing the same story: special operations, tier-one units, the highlight reel. Nobody was talking to the much larger group he had served alongside, the mechanics, fuel handlers, planners and supply crews who keep the whole thing running. So he started a coffee company for them.
The early yearsFrom Private Label to Our Own Roaster
For our first couple of years, another roaster roasted ARC coffee and we put our label on the bag. Plenty of brands work that way and never say so. The numbers didn’t work and neither did the standard, so we bought our own roaster and learned to run it. Today everything ARC sells is roasted at our Dale Avenue roastery, by us.
Building a Coffee Company for the Everyday Operator
We call them Everyday Operators: the people whose work keeps missions and communities moving, usually before anyone else is awake. Our coffees are named for military gear, aircraft and duties, a nod to where ARC comes from.
What Coffee Does Aerial Resupply Coffee Make?
Light, Medium, Dark, Espresso, Decaf and Double-Caffeinated Coffee
The lineup covers the full roast spectrum. Hercules Blond Roast and Lifeline Light Roast sit at the light end. Fire Watch Colombian Medium Roast and Moose Medium Roast hold the middle. 15W40 Dark Italian Roast, Cavalry Dark Roast Blend and Spectre Dark Espresso Roast cover the dark end.
MOAB Double Caffeinated Medium Roast is built for long shifts, and BLANKS Decaf, in medium or dark, is for everything after them. Single-origin releases such as our Ethiopian Natural Yirgacheffe rotate through, along with a line of flavored coffees.
Firewatch, 15W40, Spectre, MOAB and Signature Roasts
Fire Watch is our best seller: a smooth, balanced Colombian medium roast. 15W40 is a heavy dark Italian roast named for the engine oil that keeps the motor pool running. Spectre is our dark espresso roast, with chocolate and toffee notes. MOAB is double-caffeinated. Lifeline and Cavalry round out the core lineup at the light and bold-dark ends.
Whole Bean, Ground Coffee and Single-Serve Pods
Most roasts come in 12 oz bags, whole bean or ground, and in 5 lb bulk bags. The core roasts are also available as single-serve pods for K-Cup® brewers, in 12, 40 and 80 counts. We also sell loose-leaf tea, brewing gear, drinkware and apparel.

Small-Batch Roasting in Charlottesville
All ARC coffee is roasted, packaged and distributed onsite at our roastery in Charlottesville, Virginia, in small batches on our own roaster. The same crew roasts, packs and ships the orders. None of our coffee is contract-roasted somewhere else and relabeled.
How ARC Keeps Coffee Fresh
We roast to keep up with orders instead of stockpiling months of pre-roasted inventory in a warehouse, and we ship from the building we roast in. Orders from our 1st Caffeine Regiment subscribers are packed and shipped first.
Quality Control and Roast Consistency
Quality control starts before the roaster. ARC buys sustainably sourced green coffee graded to Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards: free of defects and contaminants.
From there, every step happens onsite at our Charlottesville roastery: roasting, packaging and distribution. One crew is accountable for every batch, from green coffee to sealed bag. It’s also why we fill our own pods: most roasters our size farm that job out, and we wanted to control what ends up in the cup.

ARC buys sustainably sourced, specialty-grade green coffee, graded to SCA standards, through two importers, Cafe Imports and Royal New York. We picked them because they share our standards for quality, sustainability and fair treatment of the people who grow the coffee. Mike selects the coffees himself.
Coffee Origins and Single-Origin Releases
Fire Watch and Lifeline are built on Colombian coffee. Our single-origin releases, such as the Ethiopian Natural Yirgacheffe, feature one origin at a time. We buy through established importers who work directly with producers, and we don’t claim direct-trade relationships of our own.

We roast in Charlottesville and ship across the United States and to deployed service members: more than 100,000 bags of coffee to date. Orders over $50 ship free.
