BD–004: Spectre Downrange Latte (Nutella Latte Drill)

Purpose: Execute a stealth-level latte that strikes with chocolate and hazelnut precision. Spectre brings the deep roast edge; Nutella adds covert sweetness and texture. Outcome: Silky, rich, and mission-ready. Time-on-target: ≈7 minutes.

Section I — Equipment & Supply Loadout

• Primary Brewer: Espresso machine (preferred), Moka pot or AeroPress backup.
• Milk System: Steam wand or frother capable of microfoam.
• Implements: Spoon, milk pitcher, heatproof cup or glass (12–14 oz), thermometer.
• Consumables: 1 heaping tbsp Nutella (or similar hazelnut spread), 6–8 oz milk (whole or oat), optional cocoa powder or crushed hazelnuts for garnish.
• Coffee Component: Double shot (36–40 g) of Spectre.

QC Note: Warm Nutella 5 seconds in microwave before integration for faster melt and smoother fusion. Cold spread resists mixing and creates tactical lumps.

Section II — Pre-Mission Checks

1. Grind Discipline: Grind Spectre fine (espresso setting). 18–20 g dose. Moka pot: slightly coarser grind, 1:8 ratio water to grounds.
2. Milk Temp: 140–150°F optimal for sweetness and texture. Avoid >155°F to prevent flavor burn-off.
3. Base Prep: Load 1 tbsp Nutella into preheated cup. Optional: add a teaspoon hot water to soften if room temp.
4. Extraction Window: 25–30 s for double shot; aim for deep chocolate crema and steady flow.

Abort Criteria: If Nutella remains chunked or unmixed after espresso pour — abort and stir longer before milk insertion. The mission requires smooth integration.

Section III — Execution (SOP)

1. 03:00—Pull Espresso: Brew 2 shots of Spectre. Target 36–40 g output, ~25–30 s extraction.
2. 02:30—Integrate Nutella: Pour hot espresso directly over Nutella. Stir vigorously for 15–20 s until glossy and fully combined.
3. 01:45—Steam Milk: Froth milk to 140–150°F with tight microfoam. Swirl pitcher before pouring for uniform texture.
4. 01:00—Combine: Pour milk steadily into Nutella espresso base. Use circular motion for consistent layering.
5. 00:30—Finish: Optional chocolate drizzle or crushed hazelnut dust for visual morale boost. Serve immediately.
