Why it's called Galaxy:
The C-5 Galaxy is the biggest aircraft the Air Force has ever flown. The nose swings open so you can drive straight through it. It kneels on its landing gear to drop the deck to truck height. It hauls tanks, helicopters, and on a bad day, other aircraft. It was never the fastest thing on the ramp and nobody ever called it graceful. It just moved what nothing else could move.
